Aperol Turn on the Sunset: A Summer Across East Europe
Three countries. Three crews. One summer on the move. For Aperol’s Turn on the Sunset, we followed the campaign across East Europe — from catamarans and branded vehicles to festivals, activations and sunsets, capturing thousands of moments through photography, cinema and drone. A summer-long production built to keep up with the energy of the campaign.
Aperol Turn on the Sunset: A Summer Across East Europe
Three countries. Three crews. One production that kept moving all summer.
We have worked on many Aperol projects through our partner 2night, covering events, activations and experiences across different formats.
But Aperol Turn on the Sunset 2025 was a different kind of production.
The campaign took us across East Europe, following Aperol activations through Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro and turning an entire summer into one large, constantly moving content production.
Production on the move
The brief required us to capture the campaign from every possible angle.
We worked from catamarans, branded vehicles and activation spaces, combining cinematography, photography and drone shooting to create a broad library of content.
The challenge was not only the variety of locations, but the pace.
We were constantly moving, working with different environments, different crews and different production conditions — while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the campaign.
Three crews, three countries
Across the summer, we coordinated three different production teams, moving between Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro.
Each crew had to operate independently while delivering material that could become part of the same larger campaign.
That meant building a workflow capable of handling large volumes of footage and photography coming from different people, locations and shooting setups.
The production wasn't a single shoot.
It was a system.
From catamarans to festivals
One of the most memorable stops was Novigrad, Croatia, where we had the opportunity to cover the campaign alongside the city's summer festival programme, bringing another layer of energy and complexity to the production. Novigrad hosts a busy summer calendar of cultural and music events, including the Croatia Folk Fest and other major events throughout the season.
Here, the challenge was to capture not only the Aperol activation itself, but also the atmosphere surrounding it — the people, the location, the music, the sea and the spontaneous moments that make summer events feel alive.
It was exactly the kind of environment where coverage has to be reactive.
You don't know every moment that is going to happen. You have to be ready when it does.
A production built for scale
What made Turn on the Sunset particularly interesting for us was the scale of the operation.
Different countries. Different crews. Different shooting formats. Different environments. Thousands of pieces of content.
And all of it had to eventually come together as one campaign.
Our job was therefore not simply to produce images.
It was to create a production workflow capable of collecting, coordinating and delivering a huge amount of visual material across an entire summer.
From a catamaran at sunset to a branded vehicle on the road, from aerial footage to fast-paced festival coverage, every location became another chapter of the same story.
Aperol Turn on the Sunset was a summer-long production across East Europe — and one of the clearest examples of how large-scale event coverage can become a coordinated, multi-crew content operation.
